What would Pippi do?

By

I believe it is a most important question to ask, what would Pippi do?

Pippi Longstocking is a fictional character created by beloved storyteller Astrid Lindgren.  Pippi is the strongest girl in the world and she doesn´t care for authority or rules. I have taken the liberty to work further with Pippi since she has inspired me a lot, I wanted to keep her alive – but I wanted to add something to the beloved childrens tale..

WORLD WILD STRENGTH
The WORLD WILD STRENGTH was originally created for the European day against Racism 2018, it was on this day exhibited in Gallery Wüs in Charlottenburg along with other artists.

WORLD WILD STRENGTH is showing children from all over the world with hair like Pippi – as there are strong children everywhere in the world and they can be any size, colour, gender, and personality. They all bear some things in common. This is about solidarity world wide, and knowing that really we must unite our strength and inspire each other. Children are the best examples of being yourself and following your heart, no matter what. Listen to the children. This is about the right of the children, to be and live in a peaceful world. The right to a future. This is about our future. That’s why I ask #whatwouldpippido?

UNITED WE STAND (see below) is from the same collection, showing kids from everywhere standing by Pippi ready to fight injustice. Children are empowered and resourceful, they need space to explore and become.

UNITED WE STAND
United we stand is one of the first drawings I did where I thought of Pippi in a new light.
